Today, Saturday 21st October, Drogheda Implementation Board hosted an event for sporting clubs and organisations from Drogheda and East Meath. The event was an opportunity for clubs from different sporting codes to connect with one another, look at the actions in the Drogheda Report Implementation Plan and to come up with ideas to respond to those actions. It was attended by almost 50 representatives of 32 clubs across 15 sporting codes.
The event was opened by Minister for Sport and Physical Activity, Thomas Byrne, TD., followed by a ‘fireside chat’ with Davy Fitzgerald. Attendees were then engaged in an interactive workshop to look at what resources are in the area, what is missing and to generate ideas for new initiatives. Initial feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and a report has been produced to capture the ideas shared on the day and is available to view here.
