Drug awareness event for education providers a great success

Organised by the Policing and Drugs subgroup of the Drogheda Implementation Board our first public event, a drug awareness information seminar for education providers in Primary, Secondary, Further and Second Chance education took place in The Barbican Centre, Drogheda, on Thursday 19th May.

Inspector Aidan McCabe, Superintendent Andrew Watters, Garda Anita O’Shea (JLO), Michael Keogh and Chief Superintendent Alan McGovern.

The event was extremely well attended by representatives from primary, secondary, further and second chance level across a wide range of key staff roles. The event consisted of well received presentations from  Inspector Aidan McCabe and Superintendent Andrew Watters from An Garda Siochána Drogheda, Philip James of the HSE Substance Use Service for Teens (SUST) and Andy Ogle of the North Eastern Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force and networking opportunities
