Announcement of additional resources for three schools in Drogheda

Jun 29, 2022

Drogheda Implementation Board greatly welcome the news today that the Department of Education have allocated additional resources to St Brigid and St Patrick’s Primary School Drogheda; St. Joseph’s CBS Primary and Presentation N.S for a fixed five year period as a response to action 6.1 of the Drogheda Report Implementation Plan

These resources are to support the implementation of evidence based programmes and initiatives which build school capacity to respond to the needs of their students in relation to the issues outlined in the Drogheda Report.

This additional investment, which follows and builds on the allocation of interim resources of 2 additional staff per school since September 2021 by the Department of Education means the schools will have access to appropriate resources to facilitate redressing the challenges faced by their students and providing the best possible supports to them.

Congratulations to the school community and thank you to Ministers Foley and McEntee and their teams in the Department of Education and Department of Justice for recognising the importance of investing in our children.
